PNC Championship: Tiger Woods’ Family Thrill
Tiger Woods and his children had an exciting weekend at the 2024 PNC Championship.
On the course, the renowned golfer accompanied his 15-year-old son Charlie, while his 17-year-old daughter Sam served as their caddie for the second consecutive year.
The trio could be seen grinning together in pictures and videos taken as they prepared for a fun-filled day of golf.
After competing together for a number of years, Tiger and Charlie have made the PNC Championship a family tradition. Professional golfers and their loved ones are paired for a weekend of camaraderie and friendly rivalry in this unusual tournament.
Charlie’s historic first-ever hole-in-one during Sunday’s final round made this year’s event even more memorable.
The father-son team finished in second place thanks to the cheer-inducing shot, which was made with a pristine 7-iron.
Charlie reflected on the experience and said he was thrilled. According to ABC News, he remarked, “Having Dad there was great.” “It was a lot of fun. It was merely a tiny cut with a flawless 7-iron. I never saw it go in, of course. That is awful. It is okay, though.
For Tiger, it was an absolutely remarkable experience. “To be able to share that moment with Charlie, make his first hole-in-one, [daughter] Sam on the bag, simply our family and friends, was the thrill of a lifetime,” Woods remarked. That is the purpose of this event. It has to do with family and connection.
Tiger stressed the importance of their combined effort, even though the two did not win the championship. He continued, “We had to earn it, and that is what you want to have.”
Tiger and Elin Nordegren, his ex-wife, had two children together. Sam was born in 2007 and Charlie in 2009 to the ex-couple, who were wed in 2004 and divorced in 2010. The close-knit foursome has developed a tradition of making memorable experiences both on and off the golf field over the years.
