During a girls’ trip to Puerto Rico on The Real Housewives of New York City, the simmering drama between Rebecca Minkoff and Brynn Whitfield took a new turn. The two ladies got into a heated argument in the most recent episode (Season 15, Episode 11) after Rebecca Minkoff made a remark about motherhood that had people talking.
The argument started when choosing the accommodations for the vacation in Puerto Rico. Rebecca, a mother of four, stated that she needed a break and that she was very eager for her own room. Rebecca’s response, however, brought things to a more intimate level when Brynn attempted to sympathize by revealing that she was also under stress.
In the episode, Rebecca revealed that her circumstances were different due to her four children, saying, “I shared with Jessel last time [in Anguilla], and I was simply hoping for a break.” Rebecca said, “You will know when you have ’em,” in response to Brynn, who is childless, who implied that everyone’s life are hectic.
Brynn did not like that remark at all. The suggestion that her concern was any less legitimate because she was not a mother surprised her. Rebecca’s comment profoundly wounded Brynn, who has been upfront about her wish to become a mother, including freezing her eggs.
Rebecca acknowledged that she had no idea how delicate the subject was for Brynn because she was ignorant of her battle with infertility and her attempts to conceive. During her interview with Bravo HQ, Rebecca revealed, “I had no idea she was preserving her eggs.” “I truly experienced an explosion when I reaffirmed my statement. And I thought, “Oh, wow.”
For her part, Brynn clarified that she has been candid about her difficulties with childlessness for a long time, which has caused her a great deal of emotional suffering. “I cry.” “I wake up in the middle of the night crying because I do not have children,” Brynn admitted, demonstrating that motherhood is a very personal matter for her and not just a passing desire.
Although Rebecca Minkoff’s remark may have been a slight jab, Erin Lichy said it was not necessarily a big deal. Erin did concede, though, that Rebecca had meant to “dig a little bit,” which is in line with her somewhat combative demeanor.
It is evident that Rebecca and Brynn’s disagreement extends beyond this single remark, despite the intensity. Since their first encounter, Brynn has acknowledged that she and Rebecca have had persistent problems, and this most recent interaction has just fueled the flames.
Do you think Rebecca Minkoff went too far?
