Joshua Jackson Accused by Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith, who is still divorcing Joshua Jackson, is speaking up.

Jodie claims Joshua has broken a promise he made about their financial future, and she is requesting that a judge intervene and require her estranged husband to pay child and spousal support, according to new court records that TMZ was able to get.

Since Jodie filed for divorce in October 2023, the couple—who have a 4-year-old daughter called Juno—has been embroiled in a judicial struggle. Jodie first chose to stop any possible spousal maintenance when the divorce papers were filed.

Since then, though, things have changed, and Jodie now claims that she requires financial support in order to take care of herself and their daughter.

Jodie is asking for $28,641 in spousal support and $8,543 in child support per month in the court document, at least while their divorce case is still pending.

Jodie clarifies that although she has been making an effort to maintain a cordial relationship, Joshua is being slow and exaggerating her legal fees. She says she is finding it difficult to feed herself and Juno financially without his help.

Jodie has also brought attention to the income gap between them throughout their marriage, claiming that Joshua, who has a lengthy Hollywood career, made a lot more money than she did.

Jodie has been particularly wounded by Joshua’s alleged failure to fulfill his pledge to provide for her and their daughter in the event of their separation. She remembers Joshua telling her that he knew the difficulties of being a Black woman and a single mother, so she would not have to worry about money.

She claims that because he “knew how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother, he pledged to always support me and ensured me that I would not have to worry about financial stability for our kid if we ever separated.”

But according to Jodie, Joshua is not keeping his word and is trying to persuade her to accept a settlement that is less than what she feels she is entitled to. In order to compensate for her legal fees and forensic accounting expenses, she is also requesting that the court order Joshua to pay $250,000.

Joshua has not yet responded to inquiries about these recent events.
